Skip Bayless wants to end feud with Troy Aikman

Skip Bayless and Troy Aikman

When Fox Sports hired Skip Bayless from ESPN, former NFL quarterback and current FOX analyst Troy Aikman was not happy. He had no problem blasting the hire in an interview with Sports Illustrated.

That multi-decade feud still continues to this day.

Before launching a TV career, Bayless was a columnist at the The Dallas Morning News and covered Aikman's career with the Cowboys. In his book, Hell Bent, Bayless made an unsubstantiated claim that Aikman was gay. The two have neither seen nor spoken to one another since the book was published in 1996.

Bayless, though, would welcome a chance to speak to Aikman and work out their differences.

He said via The Dallas Morning News:

"For the record, I tried to get in touch with Troy after he seemed to have a public issue with it. I wrote him a note that said, 'I'm dumbfounded by this that you have any issue with this book. I would have thought you would have loved this book.' He was like the last American hero to me. And to this day I haven't seen Troy, and I would be happy to sit down with him today and talk to him."
