Doc Rivers loses it over call, has to be held back

Doc Rivers went absolutely berserk after a foul call toward the end of the first Clippers-Nets overtime period on Tuesday night. He was ejected, and the Clippers lost in double OT, 127-122.

First, Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan try to keep an eye on him, but he flails and breaks away from them. Then, Jordan grabs his coach by the waist to hold him back. And then, Sam Cassell gets in front of Rivers, hugs him and says something to him. Eventually, Rivers is escorted off the court, but not before glaring backwards a couple more times.

Rivers actually looked like he was going to attack the officials if his team hadn't been there to grab him. We'll update this post when/if he makes a comment to reporters after the game.

Update: Rivers said he was mostly upset about the first tech. You can read his full comments below, courtesy of the OC Register's Dan Woike.

"The official, who had nothing to do with the play, thought I was yelling at Lauren (Holtkamp) and I wasn't. We weren't. She said I was right and let's walk back. We weren't even arguing. It was the damndest tech to give at that time."

Here's an explanation for why Rivers was ejected from referee Ken Mauer.
