Fans of the former San Diego Chargers took to the team facility Thursday afternoon and disposed of their Chargers gear in an act of protest.
As this was happening, I couldn't help but think that someone was going to set that pile in fire. I really didn't want it to happen because simply letting go of years of gear and memories seemed like a profoundly effective (and peaceful) way to protest a team's relocation.
Well, someone set that pile on fire.
According to reporters on the scene at the Chargers' facility, one fan was taken into custody after the bonfire started.
It was only a matter of time.
