Rams' Andrew Whitworth on Super Bowl loss: 'At the end of the day we're all gonna die'

Rams tackle Andrew Whitworth was poignant after the Super Bowl loss to the Patriots on Sunday, and also captured the mood of the nation, when he summed up the loss by saying "at the end of the day, we're all gonna die."

That is a real quote.

And also a real mood.

Whitworth was (I think) talking about how the team didn't feel pressure coming into the game, and wouldn't let the loss define them, because our time on this Earth is short and in the big scheme of things, this is just a football game.

We come from dust and to dust we shall return.

Was it also a meta commentary on how boring this Super Bowl was? Possibly. I'd like to think so. I'm going to choose to interpret it that way.

And honestly? Whitworth has a point. Yes, the Rams lost the Super Bowl. Yes, they only scored three points and gave the New England Patriots their sixth Super Bowl.
