Tom Brady should turn full heel leading up to the Super Bowl

Andy Nesbitt
USA TODAY

Tom Brady is going to his 10th Super Bowl after beating the Packers at Lambeau Field on Sunday and will be looking to win his seventh ring when the Bucs face the Chiefs in Tampa in just under two weeks.

He’s the first QB in NFL history to lead his team to a home game in the Super Bowl.

And he has absolutely ended any debate over who’s the greatest QB of all time.

Now it’s time for Brady, who had a sweet moment with his son after the win, to try something new. It’s time for him to turn full heel leading up to the Super Bowl and play the villain role that so many would love to see.

Brady won’t do this, of course, as he’s too smart to go all in on something like this but how much more fun would the next two weeks be if he did just that?

NFL STATS CENTRAL: The latest NFL scores, schedules, odds, stats and more.

Here are some things I’d love for him to do in that role:

1. Call out Bill Belichick and the Patriots for not having him finish out his career in New England.

Brady is going to be asked a lot about the Patriots leading up to the Super Bowl. He’s probably not going to answer those questions or just give boring answers about how he’s a Buccaneer now and he’s only focused on the Chiefs.

But how fun would it be if he just said whatever, and went all in Belichick and the Patriots and how they have nothing now that Brady is gone while Brady has another trip to the Super Bowl on his calendar?

2. Roast everyone who roasted him this year.

Lots of writers, including myself, had moments this year in which we wondered if Brady was done. He lost track of downs on the final drive against the Bears. He suffered the worst loss of his career to the Saints. He had many moments where he looked every bit his age (which is 43 years old).

Brady should now spend the next few weeks rubbing it in everyone’s face about how he is not washed and that he’s back in a TENTH Super Bowl and that he got there by beating Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers on the road. He got there by leading a franchise that he’s only been with for less than a year, a franchise that has a ton of new faces and not the best history of winning big games. He went down to Florida and basically just put a bad franchise on his back and led them to a Super Bowl that is being held in their own stadium.

He won’t do any of that but he should.

3. Crush the rest of the NFC for being bad.

Seriously, how did the rest of the NFC let this old dude come down to Tampa and without a regular offseason or preseason let him take over their conference and go to the Super Bowl?

Brady should have fun making fun of Aaron Rodgers for losing again in the NFC title game. Brady and Rodgers have now won the NFC the same amount of times, which Brady should call out a bunch of times leading up to the Super Bowl.

Brady should just let it all go and say everything he’s likely been wanting to say for the past year but was too classy and smart to do it.

His legacy is now forever cemented as the GOAT and there’s nothing anyone can do or say to take that away from him.

Now’s his time to take the house money he has earned and spend it.

It won’t happen. But man, it would be great if it did.
