Braves star Ronald Acuña Jr. is just the coolest

Ronald Acuña Jr. has had himself one heck of a week. Well, actually, he’s had a few amazing weeks to start the 2021 season.

This specific week started with him beating out a routine ground ball Sunday night with some cheat-code type speed that had everyone in awe. I still don’t know how he made that look so easy.

On Monday he showed off his speed again by tagging up from third and scoring on a shallow fly ball to center.

Then on Thursday an awesome video emerged of Acuña throwing a ball to some fans in the stands and the ball landed directly in the cup of beer that one fan was enjoying.

I mean, how awesome is that? Even when Acuña isn’t trying to be cool he’s so damn cool.

But here’s the thing – he’s currently off to an unbelievable start to the season. It’s been such a hot start that, as my friend Andrew Joseph pointed out, that he went 2 for 5 with a home run on Thursday and saw his average go down.

Even if you aren’t a Braves fan, Acuña should be one of your favorite players in pro baseball. He’s been so fun to watch during the first three years of his career and he’s only getting better. He’s currently hitting .442. Through 14 games he has 7 home runs, 23 hits, and 14 RBI.

The only thing that hasn’t gone well for Acuña thus far is that the Braves are off to a pretty blah start, as they’re just 5-8 after Thursday’s win over the Marlins.

But whatever, I’m looking forward to another year full of awesome Acuña highlights.
