Steph Curry is so good at making people look really silly

This is the Morning Win, by Andy Nesbitt.

Earlier this season some people on TV and a lot of people on the internet proudly wondered out loud if Steph Curry had what it took to be the leader of this year’s Warriors team.

Those takes were so silly then and they’re even more silly now when you look back at them because Curry is having one of his best seasons of his career and he’s often been making a mediocre Warriors team looking pretty darn good at times. He also has them in position to make it to the play-in round of the NBA playoffs.

The way Curry has been doing it has been pretty ridiculous. The Warriors lost a tough game in Boston on Saturday night but Curry had 47 points, including maybe the coolest shot of his career, to continue an incredible run for the two-time NBA MVP who should be in that discussion again this year.

Curry has had 30 or more points in each of his last 10 games. In that span he has three 40-point games and a 53-point game against the Nuggets. He’s now second in the league in scoring with 31.0 points per game and he’s on pace to become the first player in history to average over 30 points in the 12th year of his career or greater.

Curry’s current run is even more ridiculous when you learn that as of Saturday night he had more made three pointers this past week than four entire NBA teams.

The Warriors are now ninth in the Western Conference and are in position to battle for a spot in the playoffs as the regular season winds down. How they do will depend on how Curry does down the stretch. He tweaked his ankle late against the Celtics on Saturday but was able to stay in the game and put up points while hobbling around a bit. He said after that he hopes he can play against the Sixers tonight in Philadelphia.

I think we’re all hoping he can play tonight because any time Curry takes the floor, especially lately, is so much fun to watch.

Quick hits: Pete Davidson the star of Paul-Askren… Lonzo Ball’s costly mistake… New episode of ‘Special Delivery’… And more.

– Comedian and SNL cast member Pete Davidson was the star of the Jake Paul-Ben Askren fight with his brutally honest roasts of Paul. Paul’s win, by the way, wasn’t all that impressive.

– Lonzo Ball made a terrible mistake that cost the Pelicans a win and teammate Steven Adams couldn’t believe it.

– You need to watch the latest episode of “Special Delivery,” a tremendous show about unboxing and breaking down cool sneakers, starring my pal Mike Sykes stars. It’s great.

– Also, check out the latest episodes of our true crime podcast “The Sneak.” You’re going to love this season of the show.

– Trevor Lawrence clarified his comments on what drives him.
