Chris Weidman’s fight with Uriah Hall at UFC 261 Saturday night in Jacksonville came to a very sudden, scary and painful end when he broke his leg while kicking Hall just 17 seconds into the first round of their bout.

Weidman -- who got a nice message from Anderson Silva, who suffered the same injury in a fight with Weidman years ago -- had surgery on his leg but remains hospitalized in Florida.

The former middleweight champ shared a video that he took from his hospital bed at 3:30 a.m. on Monday. In it, he thanked his fans for their support, provided a timetable for when he might be able to start training again and said he’s trying to find a positive out of this.
