Mike Krzyzewski will unquestionably go down as one of the greatest head coaches and basketball minds of all time. His legacy is set in stone.

He announced that he'd be retiring after the upcoming season, landing him at 45 total seasons as the head coach of Duke. And what a time it was. Through his time as the Blue Devil's head coach, he's won five national championships across three different decades and had 12 total Final Four appearances.

Former Duke player and current assistant Jon Scheyer will take over for Krzyzewski when he finally leaves the bench at the end of the season.

Scheyer is going to have some pretty big shoes to fill. Coach K did a number on the record books β€” not only at Duke but in the NCAA overall.

Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski has won five national championships across three different decades and had 12 total Final Four appearances.

Here are the 6 wild records and stats that show us just how incredible Coach K was in his time at Duke.

1,170 wins

No one is catching him anytime soon, either. Syracuse's Jim Boeheim is second with 1,083.

12 Final Four appearances

Krzyzewski is tied with John Wooden for the most Final Four appearances of all time. His last came in 2015.

15 30-win seasons

Coach K's 15 30-win seasons are the most in Division 1 NCAA basketball history. He averaged 27 wins per season with Duke through 41 seasons.

517 ACC wins

Coach K has won 517 games in the ACC, which stands as a league record. He passed Dean Smith in 2015 at 422.

5 NCAA basketball championships

This isn't quite a record, but it's the second most championship wins of all time only behind John Wooden's 10.

41 first-round NBA draft picks

Coach K sent 67 draft picks to the NBA through his 45-year coaching career and 41 of them were first-round picks, which is leads all active coaches.
