Could a happy Aaron Rodgers actually return to the Packers in 2022?

This is The Morning Win. Charles Curtis is filling in for Andy Nesbitt.

Remember a few months ago, when all we could talk about was how unhappy Aaron Rodgers was?

Doesn’t that feel like eons ago?

And that brings up a really curious question here, especially after the Packers marched into Glendale on Thursday night missing a bunch of starters and walked away with their seventh straight win while taking down the previously-undefeated Arizona Cardinals.

Is Rodgers being convinced to stay in Green Bay in 2022?

I know … it’s not helpful to look in the crystal ball in the middle of a season in which the Packers look like their an NFC contender. But you have to! All the talk was that Rodgers might be out in 2022 after a Last Dance in Lambeau.

But — and I’m aware I’m reading tea leaves here — look at Rodgers this year. He’s thriving once again and seems to be having fun. He’s loving all the memes of his funny face. He’s pleading with referees in the middle of live plays. And there was this quote from earlier this week that he delivered to Pat McAfee: “I’m still in Green Bay and having the time of my life.”

He referred to having his “best friend” Randall Cobb back on the team and driving into practice with lineman David Bakhtiari … so could this mean he might be rethinking his future?

There’s a lot loaded in here, including the fact that the Packers have a young first-round QB waiting in the wings in Jordan Love, and we know that good NFL teams win with cheap QBs and spend money elsewhere.

But if the Packers are winning and Rodgers is happy, none of that matters.
