It’s been written about countless times: Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris grew up in the Bay Area and spent years living in a homeless shelter.

But when he got to Alabama, he didn’t sleep on the floor for the first few months.

Yet that was the anecdote told by Steve Levy on "Monday Night Football" in the Steelers’ win over the Chicago Bears, as you’ll see below.

Harris took to Twitter to deny that happened, which made everyone wonder: If that was the case, where did that story come from?

We might have an answer. First, here’s the MNF moment and Harris’ tweet:

2018 Bleacher Report story reports another former Crimson Tide running back, Josh Jacobs, was also was homeless in Oklahoma and slept on the floor during his first few months at Alabama. Jacobs is on the Las Vegas Raiders.

"When he arrived at Alabama, Josh Jacobs spent his first few months sleeping on the floor in his dorm room. Not because he didn't have a bed. But because after years of sleeping on couches, on motel floors and in the back seat of his father's maroon Chevy Suburban, he was more comfortable there."
