“Rat poison” is one of Nick Saban’s oft-used phrases, meant to refer to how the media, fans, narratives and the like can get into Alabama players’ heads.

Over the years he’s sometimes tried to avoid referring to it and has been trolled for the usage of it many, many times (mostly by Lane Kiffin).

But after an upset of Georgia in the 2021 SEC championship game, Saban leaned right into it with all the underdog talk about facing the higher-ranked Bulldogs.

While speaking with reporters after the 41-24 win on Saturday, he dropped an amazing quote about “positive” rat poison. This is gold:

“You guys gave us a lot of really positive rat poison. The rat poison that you usually give us is usually fatal. But the rat poison that you put out there this week was yummy.”

Yummy rat poison. Really captures it, doesn’t it?
