A glance at the second round of the Masters
AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) β A brief look at the second round of the Masters on Friday (all times EDT):
LEADING: Bubba Watson, at 7-under 137 after a second-round 68.
TRAILING: John Senden also shot 68 and was three shots back at 4-under 140.
BYE-BYE LEFTY: Phil Mickelson didn't have any 7s on his scorecard like the day before, but missed the cut anyway after a 73 that put him at 149. It was the first time Mickelson missed the cut at the Masters since 1997.
SHOT OF THE DAY: Watson's curling 40-footer for birdie on 14 for his third birdie in a row.
NOTEWORTHY: Watson reeled off five straight birdies beginning with the 12th hole to take the lead for good.
KEY STATISTIC: Fred Couples, playing in his 30th Masters, made the cut for the 28th time. The 54-year-old, who won the Masters in 1992, is five shots off the lead at 142.
QUOTEWORTHY: "How many green jackets you got? If you had one, you would celebrate it for a year or two." β Bubba Watson on his struggles since winning the Masters in 2012.
