Luckbox Sam wins at Los Alamitos

LOS ALAMITOS, Calif. (AP) — Luckbox Sam beat long-shot Goodison Park by a length Friday in the $54,530 feature at Los Alamitos.

Luckbox Sam, ridden by Tiago Pereira and trained by A.C. Avila, ran the mile in 1:35.57. The 4-year-old gelding paid $6.80, $3.80 and $3 for his third victory in 25 career starts.

Goodison Park returned $9.20 and $4.80, and Wrightwood paid $2.60 to show.
