John and Brittany Force top NHRA qualifying at Baytown

BAYTOWN, Texas (AP) — John Force topped Funny Car qualifying Friday in the Mopar Express Lane NHRA SpringNationals and daughter Brittany Force led the Top Fuel field at Houston Raceway.

The 69-year-old John Force had a 3.888-second run at 319.29 mph in a Chevy Camaro in the first session. He has a record 16 Funny Car season titles.

Brittany Force had a track-record pass of 3.661 at 332.18.
