Brad Keselowski isn't focused on firestorm, payback

Brad Keselowski said he doesn't expect anything nefarious to happen Sunday.

AVONDALE, Ariz. -- Brad Keselowski paid more attention to his Madden team this week than what other drivers said about him.

After being the center of a post-race firestorm – again – on Sunday at Texas Motor Speedway, Keselowski put his head down, played video games and tried not to get too caught up in other drivers' comments.

Veteran drivers, including Jeff Gordon, Kevin Harvick and Denny Hamlin, all said Keselowski failed to show contrition after an aggressive move late in the race gave Gordon's No. 24 Chevrolet a cut tire and relegated him to a 29th-place finish.

But Keselowski said he didn't regret any of his actions – on or off the track – from Texas.

"We all have our own biases," Keselowski said. "It's not really productive to get into the he said, she said. At end of the day, we disagree.

"The more I dig into becoming what someone else wants me to be, the less I stay who I am. And who I am is someone who can win races and be a championship threat year over year with a great team who supports me and has a great cast of family and friends. I'm not looking to become what everyone else wants me to become."

Keselowski said he didn't care to spend time justifying his actions (or lack thereof, in the eyes of other drivers). He acknowledged he's not perfect, but said he felt "pretty good about the actions I've taken.

"I make some bad (decisions), but I didn't make any last week," he said. "I still feel that way."

Team owner Roger Penske has publicly and privately shown support for Keselowski this week ("Probably more than you guys will ever know," the driver said) and the 2012 champion said he didn't care to comment on things that were "meant to serve as a distraction."

He called it "doubtful" any rival would intentionally take him out at Phoenix.

"To sit here and comment on (what other drivers say) would be to justify them," he said. "I know I'm doing the right thing."
