NASCAR at Bristol 2016: Start time, lineup, TV schedule, live streaming
BRISTOL, Tenn. — It’s NASCAR race day at Bristol Motor Speedway, and we’ve got all the information you need to get ready for today’s Sprint Cup Series race.
START TIME: NASCAR Hall of Famer Rusty Wallace will instruct drivers to start their engines at 1:07 p.m. Eastern time today, followed by the green flag at 1:13 p.m. So if you want to skip the pre-race show and just tune in for the race, turn on your TV at 1:07.
RACE DISTANCE: The Food City 500 is not 500 miles, of course, but 500 laps around the 0.533-mile Bristol Motor Speedway. That's a total of 266.5 miles, to be exact.
Four drivers who could nab first win at Bristol
NATIONAL ANTHEM/FLYOVER: Country music singer Clare Dunn, a Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan, is singing the national anthem today. The flyover is a pair of A-10s from Moody Air Force Base in Georgia.
TV/RADIO SCHEDULE: Fox will broadcast the race on TV and has a pre-race show beginning at 12:30 p.m. Eastern time. The Performance Racing Network (PRN) and Sirius/XM Radio will call the race on the radio.
LIVE STREAMING: Fox is offering a live stream through its Fox Sports Go app.
WEATHER: Beautiful. The National Weather Service is calling for a lovely spring day with sunny skies and a high of 73 degrees.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.: Fewer lug nuts 'freaks me out'
LAST TIME: Joey Logano led the final 64 laps of the Bristol night race in August and held off Kevin Harvick. And one year ago, Matt Kenseth beat Jimmie Johnson on a green-white-checkered finish to win the Food City 500 in Support of Steve Byrnes.
STARTING LINEUP: Carl Edwards won his second straight pole and was one of four Joe Gibbs Racing cars in the top five of qualifying. Kenseth will start on the outside of the front row.
