Kobe Bryant tributes: Sports world remembers legend on anniversary of his death

One year ago today, the world lost Kobe Bryant, his daughter, Gianna, and seven others in a helicopter crash. On the anniversary of Bryant's passing, sports figures are paying tribute to the Lakers legend and offering their condolences again to the Bryant family. 

Lakers legend Magic Johnson tweeted, "Kobe will always be my (Lakers) brother for life." 

Johnson added: "Thank you God for allowing me enjoy Kobe Bryant for 20 years as a great basketball player, athlete, husband, father, philanthropist, mentor & teacher of the game to many men & women of all ages, best friend to Rob Pelinka, & brother to @jeaniebuss."

Women's tennis legend Billie Jean King tweeted, "Kobe was a champion of basketball, but also of women’s sports. He was the ultimate #GirlDad."
