WASHINGTON β€” The Philadelphia 76ers have high expectations for the 2019-20 season to win an NBA championship. Thursday night, however, brought a disappointing 119-113 loss to the Washington Wizards, as the SIxers committed 21 turnovers and could not figure out how to stop the explosive Wizards.

Tobias Harris led Philadelphia with 33 points and seven rebounds, but it was not enough. Harris' frustration was apparent afterward. Despite winning eight of nine going into the night, Harris felt like the Sixers should do more.

"Losing. We should not be losing," Harris said. "There is a high expectations for our group, for our team. There are expectations to win on the road, at home. Just come out every night and play to win. Tonight, big frustration, just on how we defended because it was like they were just picking and choosing whatever they wanted, so that is the big frustration."

The Sixers built an 11-point lead in the first quarter, but then allowed Washington to score 40 points in the second to go ahead, and the deficit was too much to handle after halftime. Did the Sixers let their foot off the gas?

"Yes. We definitely did," said Harris. "That is something that we have to as a team get better at. We have to get better at, when we get a lead in the game, of being able to stick with what is working, and maybe push that lead to go to the next level. It is something that we have to get better at."

Philadelphia is off Friday before getting back at it Saturday against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
