Sixers star Ben Simmons fires back at social media critics: 'I don’t give a (expletive) honestly'

Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons is used to being judged harshly. He was the No. 1 pick in the 2016 draft and has had a successful start to his career. However, has yet to really take that next step and become the all-around force the team needs him to be.

Simmons showed glimpses of that in Friday’s win over the Boston Celtics. He scored 11 of his 15 points in the fourth quarter and made huge plays down the stretch to seal the 122-110 victory. Still, Simmons continues to face some criticism for not doing more offensively while Joel Embiid carries the scoring load.

At the end, the Sixers won and that was all that mattered to Simmons.

"It’s a new season," Simmons said. "I’m just focusing on winning, do what I can to win with this thing. I don’t go on Instagram, I don’t go on Twitter, so I can’t really answer the question in terms of what people are saying. I don’t give a (expletive) honestly."

The Sixers are now 8-0 when they have their projected starting lineup on the floor, so Simmons only wants to see the team keep growing.

"Unless (coach) Doc (Rivers) says something or (assistant) Sam (Cassell) or people coming to me, then it’s a different story," Simmons said. "I’m trying to win games and that’s why we’re all here. To win."
