AP

LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) β€” University of Wyoming basketball fans have their first chance to see the renovated Arena-Auditorium on Sunday when the Cowboys open their season.

Wyoming is hosting Northern Colorado at 2 p.m.

The Arena-Auditorium closed its doors on March 10 and underwent the first phase of a $30 million renovation over the summer and fall.

The first phase work included new Cowboy and Cowgirl locker rooms, as well as new strength and conditioning, sports medicine and visiting locker room areas.

The court was reoriented 35 degrees to provide additional practice space and is now known as the Maury Brown Court.

Fans will notice new theater-style seating in the lower bowl, two new video boards, new lighting and a new sound system.

The arena's new capacity is 11,612.
