Charleston Southern rolls Johnson (TN) 81-47

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) β€” Cedrick Bowen made 7 of 10 shots and finished with 14 points to help Charleston Southern beat overmatched Johnson (Tenn.) 87-47 on Monday.

Reuben King, Will Saunders and Aaron Wheeler added 11 apiece for Charleston Southern (6-5).

CSU jumped out to a 41-9 lead. Sean Finneran ended Johnson's 6-plus minute scoreless streak with one free throw with 4:24 left. Later, Finneran hit Johnson's first 3-pointer, in 10 attempts, with 2:18 left for its first field goal since the 11-minute mark.

Nine different CSU players scored in the first half for a 49-17 lead.

Johnson, of the National Christian College Athletic Association, was led by Gunner St. John with 10 points. The Royals were held to 15-of-51 shooting, turned the ball over 19 times and got outrebounded 52-33.

Johnson lost to VMI 124-42 on Nov. 18 in its only other Division I game this season.
