McNeese St. controls Southern-New Orleans in 96-73 win

LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) — Kalob Ledoux scored 15 points and grabbed six rebounds and Adrian Brown and Jarren Greenwood each scored 13 points to lead McNeese State over NAIA member Southern University New Orleans 96-73 on Sunday.

Greenwood hit a pair of 3s and a layup and McNeese State (1-2) led 15-0. But Matthew Haynes' 3 with 16:32 left in the first half sparked a 13-0 run that ended on a 3-point play by Ezekiel Brown.

The Cowboys countered with a 19-2 run, and Richard Laku's 3 with 5:37 before halftime pushed their lead to 34-15 and it grew to 47-26 by halftime.

McNeese State's lead swelled to 73-43 on a pair of free throws by Ledoux with 10:31 remaining to play. McNeese State outrebounded the Knights 46-33 while collecting 17 offensive boards.

Kenneth Thomas and Milan Viago each scored 14 points to lead Southern-New Orleans.
