CLINTON, S.C. (AP) — Ed Drew scored 17 points, Reggie Dillard added 16 on 7-of-9 shooting and Presbyterian beat VMI 77-67 on Tuesday night.

J.C. Younger had 15 points and Jo'Vontae Millner scored 11 with nine rebounds for the Blue Hose.

Drew made back-to-back layups to start a 16-7 run, capped by Dillard's buzzer-beating 3, to close the first half and give Presbyterian (2-2) the lead, 35-30, for good.

VMI (1-3) pulled within one nearly 2 minutes into the second half but Dillard hit a jumper to ignite a 16-2 spurt that gave the Blue Hose a 51-36 lead with Younger hitting a 3 with 13:09 remaining. QJ Peterson scored 12 of 24 points from there, including back-to-back 3-pointers that trimmed VMI's deficit to 69-64 with 1:58 left, but Drew had dunks on consecutive possessions to make it 74-65 with 36 seconds to play.

Presbyterian shot a season-high 49 percent (30 of 61) from the field.
