FGCU beats Binghamton in Battle 4 Atlantis mainland tourney

FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) β€” Christian Terrell scored 12 points and Florida Gulf Coast cruised to a 69-53 victory over Binghamton in the Battle 4 Atlantis Mainland Tournament on Wednesday night.

The Eagles (2-3) improved to 1-2 in the tournament after losing to No. 20 Baylor and No. 24 Michigan State. FGCU hosts Long Beach State on Friday to conclude the tournament.

Antravious Simmons and Rayjon Tucker added 10 points apiece for FGCU. Marc-Eddy Norelia, the Eagles' scoring leader from last season, played nine minutes and chipped in five points after returning from a broken hand.

Dusan Perovic scored 12 points to lead Binghamton (3-3), which shot 38.5 percent from the floor, including just 3 of 18 from 3-point range.

Florida Gulf Coast never trailed and had a double-digit lead with about 12 minutes left in the first half.
