San Diego needs 3 OTs to get past Bethune-Cookman, 96-91

SAN DIEGO (AP) β€” Brett Bailey scored 11 of his personal best 26 points in extra time as San Diego held off Bethune-Cookman, 96-91 in three overtimes Tuesday night.

In the first overtime Bailey gave San Diego a 72-69 lead with 11 seconds left, but Brandon Tabb forced a second overtime with a 3-pointer with three seconds left. Bailey scored on a layup with 26 seconds left to knot the score at the end of the second extra period and the Toreros took charge in the third extra five-minute period.

Bailey opened with a pair of free throws and followed with a trey to make it 82-79. Tyler Williams added another 3-pointer, Bailey followed with a layup and Mark Carbone hit a 3 to make it 93-86.

Tabb finished with 29 points to lead the Wildcats (2-3) while Jeffrey Altidort added another 20.

Olin Carter III scored 19 points for San Diego (2-3).
