Montana men's hoops coach gets a 3-year contract extension
MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) β Montana men's basketball coach Travis DeCuire, whose teams have posted a 109-58 record in five seasons, has signed a three-year contract extension.
His base salary is $180,000 with bonuses for conference titles, game attendance, team grade point average, playing money games and winning NCAA Tournament games.
The Missoulian reports DeCuire will receive an additional $30,000 for attending all reasonably requested athletic and school functions. A win in the first round of the NCAA tournament would be worth $15,000 and any additional wins are worth $25,000.
His contract includes a $50,000 annual retention incentive, a $500 monthly automobile stipend and he can keep up to $120,000 above the $86,000 he is required to generate in guaranteed game revenue. If he leaves before the end of the three-year contract, he would owe a $180,000 buyout for each remaining season.
