'Papa John' Schnatter wears blue during Kentucky-Louisville rivalry game
For years, pizza chain founder John Schnatter was one of the most visible boosters of the University of Louisville athletic department.
His Papa John's franchise β from which he resigned last year as CEO over the use of a racial slur β is headquartered in a Louisville suburb and was the title sponsor of the Louisville Cardinals football stadium.
But after the school severed its ties with Schnatter last year over the incident, he re-emerged at Saturday's basketball game between No. 4 Louisville and No. 19 Kentucky -- wearing blue and sitting behind the Wildcats bench.
The sighting lit up social media with fans on both sides of the Bluegrass State rivalry.
