The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) tournament is down to the semifinal round today in Washington, D.C. Four teams are still in the hunt for the tournament title, including top-seeded No. 4 North Carolina and fourth-seeded Pitt.

The Tar Heels and Panthers meet for the second time this season with a spot in the ACC tournament championship game on the line.

North Carolina won 92-67 over Florida State yesterday for its eighth victory in a row. The Tar Heels outrebounded the Seminoles 48-22 in a dominant day on the glass. RJ Davis led the way with 18 points and Cormac Ryan and Armando Bacot had 14 points each, the latter adding 10 rebounds as well. North Carolina jumped out to a 46-30 lead by halftime and cruised to victory as Florida State struggled from the field.

Pitt earned its fourth consecutive win with an 81-69 victory over Wake Forest yesterday. ACC Sixth Man of the Year Ishmael Leggett scored a game-high 30 points off the bench to power the win. He finished the game 11-of-18 from the field compared to 12-of-30 shooting by the starters. Like North Carolina, Pitt held a double-digit lead at halftime and held on to advance in the conference tournament.

The two teams last met Jan. 2 with North Carolina winning 70-57. The winner of this game will play in the ACC tournament title game against the winner of NC State vs. Virginia on Saturday night.

ACC men's basketball tournament: North Carolina vs. Pitt predictions roundup

The Fayetteville Observer: UNC 77, Pitt 71

Rodd Baxley writes: "The Panthers are fighting for an NCAA Tournament berth and Blake Hinson is capable of carrying a team, but Pitt doesn’t have an answer for Armando Bacot or Harrison Ingram. The Tar Heels' depth in the frontcourt will be the difference."

College Football News: North Carolina 84, Pitt 73

Pete Fiutak says: "Pitt has the ability and the makeup to give North Carolina a hard time. No, this isn’t a one-dimensional Panther team, and there are a ton of things to like on both ends of the floor, but it’s 2-4 when it makes fewer than eight threes and 13-10 when it makes fewer than 12. Miami and Lehigh. Those are the only two teams this season that hit more than 12 threes against the Tar Heels, and they both lost."

Winners and Whiners: North Carolina -7

Chris King writes: "Pitt can hold their own on the glass but North Carolina is an elite team in the rebounding department. The Tar Heels had an easy time taking care of Florida State in the quarterfinals and they should be rested for this contest. With a quartet of guys that can do damage on any given night, Pitt can’t key on one guy. Meanwhile, Hinson is held in check and that carries the Tar Heels to the title game."
