Some notable performances and accomplishments this weekend in college football, by the numbers

2: Teams in FBS yet to allow a rushing touchdown this season, Notre Dame and TCU. The Irish haven't given up a touchdown of any kind in their last three games, including a 41-3 win Saturday vs. Miami (Fla.), and haven't allowed a score on the ground in their last seven games dating to last season.

4: Touchdown passes in the fourth quarter by Andrew Benkwitt of Division III Utica (N.Y.) in a 51-44 win against Buffalo State. Benkwitt had six TD passes overall as Utica overcame a 44-29 deficit in the quarter to win on Benkwitt's 10-yard pass to Jeremy Meier with 13 seconds left.

3: Consecutive wins by South Carolina against Georgia, a program first in a series that spans 65 games over 118 years. The latest was 35-7 Saturday night in Columbia, the Gamecocks' 10th win in a row overall, also a program first.

4: Touchdowns on interception returns this season by Salve Regina (R.I.) sophomore CB Phil Terio, a Division III record. He set the record with a 68-yarder to cap the scoring in a 57-21 win against Massachusetts-Dartmouth. Salve Regina owns the longest active winning streak in D-III at 12 games.

5: Fourth-down conversions in as many attempts by West Virginia in its 48-45 win at Texas. The Mountaineers were 0-for-4 this season entering the game.

8: Sacks by Arkansas in its 24-7 win at Auburn. The Razorbacks had seven in their first five games.

11: Touches needed by Division III Randolph-Macon (Va.) senior H-back Vance Hedren to get five touchdowns in a 45-12 win against Catholic (D.C.). He had four rushing scores on eight carries and one TD on three receptions. He entered the game with one TD in four games this season and 10 TDs in his career.

14: Years since Brigham Young has allowed fewer than 300 yards a game for a season. The Cougars are giving up only 229.3 a game halfway through this season after allowing 243 in a 6-3 win against Utah State. BYU hasn't allowed 300 yards or more in its last 13 games overall.

25: Consecutive wins in conference play β€” 24 games in the Mountain West and one in the Big 12 β€” by TCU before a 37-23 loss to Iowa State. The Horned Frogs also had a 12-game winning streak overall, best active in FBS, but were playing without suspended starting QB Casey Pachall.

45: Completions in 69 attempts, both Pac-12 records, by Arizona's Matt Scott in a 54-48 overtime loss at Stanford. He threw for 491 yards and three TDs. However, Scott's last pass was tipped and intercepted to end the Wildcats' OT possession.

84.5: Yards a game rushing by Boston College coming into its game at Army. Andre Williams bettered that with a 99-yard bolt in the second quarter way to a 191-yard game, but the Eagles lost to the Black Knights 34-31.

237: Games since Virginia Tech had allowed a touchdown on a kickoff return, dating to the 1993 season, before North Carolina's Sean Tapley had a 94-yarder in a 48-34 win against the Hokies.

239: Career receptions for Duke's Conner Vernon, an ACC record. He had seven catches, two for touchdowns, as the Blue Devils crushed Virginia 42-17. Duke is 5-1 for its best start since 1994.
