BCS title goes through these games

George Schroeder, USA TODAY Sports
Oregon must beat Oregon State in the Civil War Saturday to maintain any chance of playing in the BCS title game.
  • If Notre Dame beats Southern Cal Saturday, Irish are set for title game
  • Three conference title matchups figure to have BCS implications

The remaining games that will dictate who plays for the BCS championship Jan. 7 in Miami (with times Eastern and TV):

Saturday

Georgia Tech at Georgia, noon, ESPN: If the Yellow Jackets upset the Bulldogs, a Georgia victory over Alabama in the SEC championship game would probably eliminate the SEC champion from the title hunt.

Michigan at Ohio State, noon, ABC: The unbeaten Buckeyes are ineligible for the BCS Championship but could stake a claim to No. 1 in the final Associated Press poll with a perfect season.

Oregon at Oregon State, 3 p.m., Pac-12 Network: The Ducks must win the Civil War and hope for plenty of help.

Auburn at Alabama, 3:30 p.m., CBS: The heavily favored Crimson Tide must win to secure a berth in the SEC championship game and retain their inside position for the BCS title game.

Florida at Florida State, 3:30 p.m., ABC: Both teams have slim but viable hopes of moving into position for the No. 2 BCS slot.

Oklahoma State at Oklahoma, 3:30 p.m., ESPN: Neither team is on the BCS championship radar, but an Oklahoma victory would strengthen the resumes of both Notre Dame (which doesn't need help) and Kansas State (which does).

Stanford at UCLA, 6:30 p.m., Fox: Neither team is in the picture, but victory by the Bruins would push Oregon into the Pac-12 championship game and strengthen the Ducks' chances of getting back into the BCS title picture.

Notre Dame at Southern Cal, 8 p.m., ABC: It's simple: Win and the Fighting Irish will play for the crystal football. Lose and chaos ensues.

Nov. 30

Pac-12 Championship, TBA vs. UCLA, 8 p.m., Fox: If UCLA beats Stanford the previous week, Oregon wins the Pac-12 North and, depending on events elsewhere, might get one last chance to make its case.

Dec. 1:

SEC Championship, TBA vs. Georgia, 4 p.m., CBS: If it's one-loss Alabama vs. one-loss Georgia, the winner advances to the BCS championship game.

ACC Championship, TBA vs. Florida State, 7:45 or 8 p.m., ABC/ESPN: A one-loss Florida State would have a chance, if chaos ensued in the standings above.

Texas at Kansas State, TBA, TBA: The Wildcats need a lot of help, but beating Texas is imperative to their slim hopes.

Jan. 7:

BCS Championship, Miami. TBA vs. TBA. 8:30 p.m., ESPN: Notre Dame and Alabama have the inside track – but no lead is safe until the final BCS rankings are unveiled Dec. 2.
