Fordham beats Bucknell 30-27 in overtime

LEWISBURG, Pa. (AP) β€” Peter Maetzold threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Tebucky Jones Jr. in overtime to give Fordham a 30-27 victory over Bucknell on Friday night.

Fordham (9-1, 5-0 Patriot League) wrapped up a share of the conference title and an automatic spot in the FCS playoffs. The Rams have won eight straight following a 54-7 loss at Villanova.

Derek Mauer kicked a 44-yard field goal for Bucknell (7-2, 3-1) on the first possession of overtime. Justin Vaughn sacked Trey Lauletta on a third-down play to force the field goal.

Fordham tied it at 24 on Chase Edmonds' 4-yard run with 2:05 left in the fourth quarter, 1:10 after Bucknell took the lead on Lauletta's 28-yard pass to Will Carter on third-and-21.

Bucknell tied it at 17 on Lauletta's 2-yard pass to Patrick Kelly in the third quarter.

Fordham took a 17-10 lead with 35 seconds left in the first half on Maetzold's 20-yard pass to Dan Light. Maetzold also threw two interceptions in the half.

Soon after played resumed in the first quarter after a delay because of a fire in a concessions area, Fordham opened the scoring on Edmonds' 1-yard run.

Bucknell tied it early in the second on Lauletta's 12-yard pass to Jake Hartman. Fordham regained the lead on Michael Marado's 24-yard field goal, and Bucknell tied it on Mauer's 31-yarder.

Maetzold was 24 of 34 for 285 yards, Edmonds ran for 103 yards on 21 carries, and Sam Ajala had nine catches for 103 yards. Lauletta was 13 of 26 for 191 yards, and Carter had seven catches for 120 yards.
