Bama's Saban says no chance of going back to NFL

NEW ORLEANS (AP) β€” Nick Saban says he not interested in returning to the NFL.

During Sugar Bowl media day, the Alabama coach said Tuesday he used to think the pros were the ultimate coaching goal. But two years with the Miami Dolphins showed that he can have more impact at the college level.

Saban left LSU to coach the Dolphins in 2005. He went 15-17 in Miami before accepting an offer from the Crimson Tide, after initially denying he had any interest in the job.

At Alabama, Saban has a record of 86-16, including three national titles in the last five years. The top-ranked Tide (12-1) will face No. 5 Ohio State (12-1) in the national semifinals Thursday night.

Saban says he's "never really thought about ever going back to the NFL."
