Badgers' Jonathan Taylor 3rd RB to go over 300 yards in 2018

Wisconsin's Jonathan Taylor turned in the best performance of his career in a week that saw four of the season's top nine rushing totals.

Taylor carried 33 times for 321 yards in an overtime win over Purdue , increasing his nation-leading total to 1,869 yards. It was the third time a Football Bowl Subdivision player had run for 300 yards this season.

With 3,846 career yards, Taylor has broken fellow Badger Ron Dayne's FBS record for combined rushing totals as a freshman and sophomore. Taylor, Dayne and Georgia's Herschel Walker are the only FBS players to reach 3,500 rushing yards in their first two seasons.

Maryland's Anthony McFarland carried 21 times for 298 yards in an overtime loss to Ohio State. His 253 yards at half were the most by a Maryland running back in a first half. His 175 yards in the first quarter are the most by an FBS player this season.

Kansas freshman Pooka Williams Jr. picked up a career-high 252 yards on 15 carries in a loss to Oklahoma and became the first Jayhawk to run for 1,000 yards in a season since 2013.

UCLA's Joshua Kelley rushed for a career-high 289 yards on 40 attempts in a win over Southern California , the third-highest total by a UCLA player and the most by a Bruin in a game against USC.

Ohio State's J.K. Dobbins ran for 203 yards on 37 carries against Maryland.

LUCKY SEVEN

Washington State's Gardner Minshew set the national season high for touchdown passes in game, with seven in a 69-28 win over Arizona. Five of his TD passes came as the Cougars built a 55-14 halftime lead, their most points in a first half since scoring 56 against Southwestern Louisiana in 1997.

NOT A BAD DEBUT

Michigan freshman kicker Jake Moody filled in for an ill Quinn Nordin and ended up setting a school record with six field goals, going 6 for 6 in his collegiate debut. He made field goals of 32, 30, 31, 33, 23 and 29 yards.

THE GUY'S A WINNER

Washington's Jake Browning became the Pac-12's all-time winningest starting quarterback, with 37 wins, breaking a tie with Stanford's Kevin Hogan and Oregon's Marcus Mariota. Browning is 37-13 (.740) after the Huskies' win over Oregon State.

TEN AGAIN FOR SOONERS

Oklahoma's win over Kansas secured the Sooners' nation-leading 39th season of at least 10 wins. They also lead the country with their 17 seasons of double-digit victories since 2000.

BUSY MAN

In a two-minute span in the second quarter of Iowa's 63-0 win over Illinois, Hawkeyes defensive end A.J. Epenesa forced a fumble, recovered a fumble and returned it 19 yards for his first career touchdown recorded a sack and blocked a punt.

STAT OF THE WEEK

Nebraska's 9-6 win over Michigan State is believed to be the Cornhuskers' first win without scoring a touchdown since Nov. 27, 1937, when they beat Kansas State 3-0 on the road.
