NFL star, Pitt alum Donald makes hefty donation to Panthers

PITTSBURGH (AP) β€” Aaron Donald's career at Pittsburgh provided the foundation that turned the Los Angeles Rams defensive linemen into a star. Now he's giving back to his alma mater.

The school announced Friday that Donald is making a seven-figure donation to the Pitt Football Championship Fund. The fund serves the program in facility improvement, recruiting, technology and student-athlete development. Pitt says it's the largest donation by a former Panthers football player.

The 27-year-old Donald is a four-time All-Pro and two-time NFL defensive player of the year for the Rams. He played at Pitt from 2010-13, winning the Bronko Nagurski Trophy and Lombardi Award, among others.

The school adds it is renaming the ground floor of its practice facility "The Aaron Donald Football Performance Center."
