Rutgers' season-opener against Temple that was scheduled for Thursday night has been postponed to Saturday because of flooding surrounding SHI Stadium in Piscataway, according to a University official.

Kickoff is scheduled for noon and will air on Big Ten Network.

The Scarlet Knights and Owls were originally scheduled to kick off Thursday at 6:30 p.m., but roads surrounding the Stadium were flooded following the rain brought on by Tropical Storm Ida Thursday into Friday.

Multiple high school games are currently scheduled to take place Friday and Saturday as part of "Rumble on the Raritan," but it's unclear at this point which games will be affected.

Rutgers announced earlier this week that the season-opener was sold out, with remaining tickets only available to students.

But after the flooding caused by the storm, multiple roads surrounding Piscataway and New Brunswick were submerged.

Rutgers University police tweeted Thursday morning that Route 18 in the New Brunswick area was closed in both directions. About an hour later, the Township of Piscataway issued a statement calling for the game to be played without fans if it was still played Thursday.
