Tennessee's Jauan Jennings steps on face of Vanderbilt player after sideline collision

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee wide receiver Jauan Jennings stomped on Vanderbilt punt returner Justice Shelton-Mosley's face in an incident that nearly caused a bench-clearing brawl Saturday.

With 3:06 remaining in Tennessee's 28-10 win over Vanderbilt, Shelton-Mosley returned a punt along the Vols' sideline. Jennings tackled him, and Shelton-Mosley slid into the Tennessee bench.

Shelton-Mosley's helmet came off during the collision. Jennings stood over him and stomped on Shelton-Mosley's uncovered face with his right cleat. 

Vanderbilt players ran to the UT sideline to defend Shelton-Mosley. There was some pushing between players of both teams. Some Vanderbilt players then left their sideline and ran toward UT's sideline, but they were stopped by coaches.

The Vols ended Vanderbilt's three-game winning streak in the series, the Commodores' longest since the 1920s.
