Deion Sanders' son breaks records, but Jackson State coach shines light on others

MEMPHIS — Don’t come to Deion Sanders wanting to talk about Shedeur Sanders.
Not in the immediate aftermath of his son’s MVP performance at the Southern Heritage Classic on Saturday in Memphis.
It was natural for one of the first questions at the postgame press conference to be in reference to Jackson State’s freshman quarterback. After all, Sanders broke multiple Southern Heritage Classic records at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium, including completions and completion percentage, and put up the third-most passing yardage in the game’s history.
