Jakubcova's 1st double-double helps USC end losing streak

AP

LOS ANGELES (AP) β€” Ivana Jakubcova finished in double figures in points and rebounds for the first time as a Trojan and USC beat Arizona 58-54 on Friday night to snap a seven-game losing streak.

Jakubcova, a graduate transfer from Kentucky, scored 11 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Freshmen Ja'Tavia Tapley and Minyon Moore scored 15 and 12 points, respectively. Courtney Jaco added 11 points.

Tapley scored nine points and had five of her six rebounds in the first half with Jakubcova adding USC's final seven points of the second period for a 31-19 lead.

Tapley's 3-pointer put USC (11-9, 2-7 Pac-12) up 13 points with four minutes left in the game but the Wildcats (11-9, 2-7) were able to get within three, 55-52, with 22 seconds remaining on two Malena Washington free throws. But Jaco made two free throws and Moore one to give USC a cushion.

Washington led Arizona with 13 points.
