Evans, No. 1 Louisville women get back to winning, rout BC

Dana Evans scored 23 points and Hailey Van Lith added 15 on Thursday night to help top-ranked Louisville bounce back from its first loss of the season with a 97-68 victory over Boston College.

Kianna Smith scored 14 points, Elizabeth Dixon had 11 and Mykasa Robinson grabbed eight rebounds for the Cardinals. Louisville (17-1, 10-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) was the last unbeaten team in the AP Top 25 before losing at home to No. 4 North Carolina State on Monday.

Taylor Soule had 20 points and Makayla Dickens scored 17 for Boston College (5-8, 1-8 ACC), which had its previous four games postponed because of COVID-19 protocols.

NO. 2 SOUTH CAROLINA 77, AUBURN 58

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) — Zia Cooke scored all 17 of her points in the first half and Aliyah Boston added 14 points and eight rebounds to lead South Carolina over Auburn.

The Gamecocks (15-1, 10-0 Southeastern Conference) built a commanding early lead and take a 12-game winning streak into Monday’s visit to No. 3 Connecticut.

Honesty Scott-Grayson led Auburn (5-12, 0-9) with 15 points.

NO. 7 TEXAS A&M 54, LSU 41

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) — Kayla Wells scored 14 points and Texas A&M overcame a slow start with strong defense late to beat LSU.

The Aggies (17-1, 8-1 Southeastern Conference) have won five in a row since LSU (8-8, 6-4) handed them their only loss, in overtime on Jan. 14.

Khayla Pointer scored 12 points to lead LSU, which scored its fewest points of the season.

NO. 8 BAYLOR 83, KANSAS 50

WACO, Texas (AP) — NaLyssa Smith had her 21st career double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds, and Baylor beat Kansas.

Smith has three double-doubles in a row, and seven in her last eight games.

DiJonai Carrington had 17 points for the Lady Bears (13-2, 8-1 Big 12). Moon Ursin, a senior in her first season as a starter for Baylor, had 16 points for her seventh double-digit scoring game in a row.

Holly Kersgieter had 21 points with three 3-pointers to lead Kansas (6-9, 2-7), which has lost four games in a row and seven of eight.

NO. 10 MARYLAND 84, WISCONSIN 48

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — Brenda Frese tied a school record with her 499th win as Maryland's coach, guiding the Terrapins past Wisconsin.

Frese equaled the mark set by Hall of Fame coach Chris Weller, who was at Maryland from 1975-2002. Weller was replaced by Frese, who’s 499-130 over 19 seasons.

Katie Benzan led the Terrapins (13-2, 9-1 Big Ten) with 18 points, one of six players in double figures.

Sydney Hilliard scored 20 points for Wisconsin (4-12, 1-12).

NO. 11 OHIO STATE 92, IOWA 87

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Jacy Sheldon scored a career-high 29 points, Dorka Juhasz had 16 points and 10 rebounds, and Ohio State beat Iowa.

Ohio State (11-2, 7-2 Big Ten) swept the season series with Iowa for the first time since 2008.

Freshman Caitlin Clark had 30 points and nine assists for Iowa (10-5, 6-5). She scored or assisted on 19 of Iowa’s 31 baskets.

MISSISSIPPI 72, NO. 15 KENTUCKY 60

OXFORD, Miss. (AP) — Shakira Austin had 21 points and 12 rebounds and Mississippi beat Kentucky to end a six-game skid.

It was the second Ole Miss win over a ranked opponent in 16 matchups under third-year coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin.

Mimi Reid added 14 points for Ole Miss (8-7, 2-7 Southeastern Conference).

Rhyne Howard had 26 points and 10 rebounds for the Wildcats (14-4, 6-3).

NO. 16 ARKANSAS 85, MISSOURI 80

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) — Chelsea Dungee scored 27 points, Destiny Slocum added 22 with 10 assists and Arkansas beat Missouri after blowing an 18-point third-quarter lead.

Amber Ramirez added 17 points in the third straight win for Arkansas (14-6, 4-5 Southeastern Conference), making 5 of 7 from 3-point range.

Lauren Hansen scored 19 points for Mizzou (6-7, 2-6) and Aijha Blackwell added 13 points and 12 rebounds.

NO. 25 GEORGIA 83, ALABAMA 76, OT

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Que Morrison scored a career-high 25 points and Georgia beat Alabama.

Morrison scored the first four points of overtime and the Bulldogs (14-4, 6-4 Southeastern Conference) never trailed from there. Morrison finished with eight points in the extra period.

Jasmine Walker had 24 points and 12 rebounds for the Crimson Tide (12-5, 5-5).
