EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – New York Giants right guard Chris Snee has missed only one game since the start of the 2005 season. Sunday against the Cleveland Browns, he'll be in uniform once again, though that doesn't mean he won't be dealing with tremendous pain.

New York Giants guard Chris Snee stretches with teammates before an NFL football game against the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, in Philadelphia.

The three-time Pro Bowl selection was listed as questionable with a hip injury. Someone with knowledge of the injury said it's a partially torn labrum. The person spoke to USA TODAY Sports about Snee's injury on the condition of anonymity because head coach Tom Coughlin hasn't provided details on the injury.

Snee has had knee problems in the past and the game he missed last year was due to a concussion. The hip problem is a new one and popped up during last week's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Snee was hunched over a few times at the end of a couple of plays, an indication he's playing through pain.

Snee will try to manage the injury through the final 12 games of the regular season. Surgery to repair labrum injuries, which are particularly debilitating for offensive linemen required to drive defenders with their hips, usually means a rehab period of 2-3 months.

The Giants are already without starting right tackle David Diehl, who's been ruled out as he works his way back from a knee injury suffered in Week 2. The Giants will also be without six other key players against Cleveland: wide receivers Hakeem Nicks (knee) and Ramses Barden (concussion), defensive tackle Rocky Bernard (quadriceps), safety Kenny Phillips (knee), impressive rookie cornerback Jayron Hosley (hamstring) and linebacker Keith Rivers (hamstring).

No surprises to speak of on the Browns' inactive list. Wide receivers Mohammed Massaquoi and Travis Benjamin, listed as doubtful with hamstring injuries, have been ruled out. Tight end Alex Smith (head) and cornerback Tashaun Gipson (knee) were ruled out on Friday. Browns running back Brandon Jackson, considered to be the leading candidate to backup Trent Richardson coming into the season, is a healthy scratch for the fourth consecutive game.
