KANSAS CITY, Mo. β€” The family of Kasandra Perkins, the 22-year-old woman killed by her Kansas City Chiefs boyfriend, will hold the first of two memorial services for her today in Texas.

According to Kansas City television station KCTV-5, the first service is today in Fort Worth, where Perkins' mother lives.

According to the Associated Press, Perkins' funeral will be held later Thursday at the Ridgeview Family Fellowship Church in Blue Ridge, Texas, 50 miles northeast of Dallas.

A second service will be held later in Austin, where Perkins' father lives, and where Perkins went to high school.

The Chiefs will be represented for at least one of the services, a person with knowledge of the team's plans told USA TODAY Sports on condition of anonymity because he wasn't authorized to speak on the matter.

The entire Chiefs organization, including players, coaches, front office personnel and ownership, attended a memorial service for Jovan Belcher on Wednesday. Belcher committed suicide in the parking lot of the team's training facility after he fatally shot Perkins at the home the couple shared with their infant daughter.
