Carolina's Cam Newton has struggled during the team's three-game losing streak, completing less than 50 percent of his passes for 527 yards with three interceptions and one touchdown for the Panthers (3-5-1).

Passing

—Aaron Rodgers, Packers, threw six touchdown passes to tie the Green Bay game record and match the NFL record for a half in a 55-14 rout of the Chicago Bears. Rodgers was 18 of 27 for 315 yards, throwing scoring passes of 73 and 40 yards to Jordy Nelson. He tied the NFL mark for TD passes in a half set by Oakland's Daryle Lamonica in 1969.

—Peyton Manning, Broncos, was 31 for 44 for 340 yards with five touchdown passes and two interceptions in Denver's 41-17 win over Oakland. Manning extended his NFL-record streak of consecutive games with multiple touchdown passes to 15 games. Manning has also thrown a touchdown pass in 48 consecutive games, surpassing Hall of Famer Johnny Unitas (47) for the third-longest streak in NFL history. Manning's first touchdown was a 51-yard pass to running back C.J. Anderson. The scoring play marked Manning's 44th career touchdown pass of at least 50 yards, eclipsing Brett Favre for the most such TD passes of any quarterback in the Super Bowl era.

—Tony Romo, Cowboys, coming off a back injury, was 20 for 27 for 246 yards and three touchdown passes in Dallas' 31-17 win over Jacksonville.

—Matthew Stafford, Lions, finished 25 for 40 for 280 yards with two touchdown passes and an interception in Detroit's 20-16 win over Miami. Stafford has 19,953 yards, most of any player in NFL history through 70 games.

—Drew Brees, Saints, was 28 for 47 for 292 yards and three touchdown passes and two interceptions in New Orleans' 27-24 loss to San Francisco.

Rushing

—Marshawn Lynch and Russell Wilson, Seahawks. Lynch had 21 carries for 140 yards and four touchdowns and Wilson added 14 carries for 107 yards and a touchdown in Seattle's 38-17 win over the New York Giants. Lynch joins Shaun Alexander (three times) and Curt Warner as the only players in franchise history to rush for at least four touchdowns in a game. Wilson joins Michael Vick (2004 and 2006) as the only quarterbacks with at least three 100-yard rushing games in a season in the Super Bowl era (since 1966). The Seahawks are the first team in NFL history to have a running back rush for at least four touchdowns and a quarterback with more than 100 rushing yards in the same game.

—Mark Ingram, Saints, had 27 carries for 120 yards in New Orleans' 27-24 loss to San Francisco.

—Justin Forsett, Ravens, had 20 carries for 112 yards and two touchdowns in Baltimore's 21-7 win over Tennessee.

—DeMarco Murray, Cowboys, had 19 carries for 100 yards in Dallas' 31-17 win over Jacksonville. Murray, who has nine 100-yard rushing games this season, is the first player in NFL history to rush for at least 100 yards in nine of his team's first 10 games to begin a season

—Jamaal Charles, Chiefs, had 15 carries for 98 yards and a touchdown in Kansas City's 17-13 win over Buffalo.

Receiving

—Jordy Nelson, Packers, had six receptions for 152 yards and two long TDs — 73 and 40 yards — in a 55-14 romp past Chicago.

—Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate, Lions. Johnson had seven catches for 113 yards and a touchdown and Tate had 11 receptions for 109 yards in Detroit's 20-16 win over Miami.

—Dez Bryant, Cowboys, had six receptions for 158 yards and two touchdowns in Dallas' 31-17 win over Jacksonville. Cecil Shorts III, Jaguars, had five receptions for 119 yards in the loss.

—Martavis Bryant, Steelers, had four catches for 143 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown, in Pittsburgh's 20-13 loss to the New York Jets.

—Mike Evans, Buccaneers, had seven catches for 125 yards and a touchdown in Tampa Bay's 27-17 loss to Atlanta. Julio Jones, Falcons, had eight catches for 119 yards in the win.

Special Teams

— Matt Bryant, Falcons, was 4 for 4 on field goals in Atlanta's 27-17 win over Tampa Bay.

—Caleb Sturgis, Dolphins, was 3 for 3 on field goals in Miami's 20-16 loss to Detroit.

—Phil Dawson, 49ers, was 2 for 2 on field goals. He had a 45-yarder with 44 seconds left in the fourth quarter and a 35-yarder in overtime in San Francisco's 27-24 win over New Orleans.

Defense

—Patrick Peterson and Antonio Cromartie, Cardinals. Peterson had two interceptions and returned one 30 yards for a touchdown and Cromartie returned a fumble 14 yards for a touchdown in Arizona's 31-14 win over St. Louis.

—Jaiquawn Jarrett, Jets, had two interceptions, a sack and a fumble recovery in New York's 20-13 win over Pittsburgh.

— Marcell Dareus, Bills, had three sacks in Buffalo's 17-13 loss to Kansas City.

MILESTONES

The Cardinals improved to 8-1 for the first time since 1948 and third time in franchise history (1925, 1948 and 2014). This is the first time the Cardinals have owned the best record in the NFL after nine games since 1966. ... The AFC North is the first division in which every team is at least two games above .500 at any point in the season since the 1935 NFL Western Division. ... The Jets' Michael Vick became the first quarterback in NFL history to run for 6,000 career yards. ... Detroit (7-2) equaled its best record since 1954, when the Lions won eight of their first nine games. They have started 7-2 only four times since, according to STATS, most recently in 1993 when they finished 10-6. The Lions have won fourth straight, and the past three have been by a combined six points, all with fourth-quarter comebacks. ... Seattle had a franchise-record 350 yards rushing against the New York Giants. It was the most in the NFL since Kansas City had 352 in 2012. ... Aaron Rodgers has his 16th scoring pass of 70 yards or more, this to Jordy Nelson, to break the record he shared with Denver's Peyton Manning and Rodgers' predecessor in Green Bay, Brett Favre.

The Raiders have lost 15 consecutive games going back to last season. ... New Orleans' loss to the 49ers ended a streak of 11 straight wins in the Superdome — and 20 straight at home in games coached by Sean Payton, who was suspended in 2012. ... The Chiefs are 6-1 in their past seven games. ... The Titans have lost seven of eight. ... The Buccaneers have lost five in a row. ... The 55 points Green Bays scored in its rout of Chicago tied a Packers record at Lambeau Field. ... Two weeks after giving up 38 points in the first half in a 51-23 loss to the Patriots, the Bears set a dubious franchise record by giving up 42 points in a half at Green Bay.

SIDELINED

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer injured his left knee early in the fourth quarter, two days after signing a three-year contract extension worth a reported $50 million. Palmer, who turns 35 next month, seemed to hurt himself while planting his leg trying to avoid a sack. He walked off the field, stumbled on the sideline and was driven to the locker room. ... Elsewhere, Kansas City backup running back Cyrus Gray will miss the rest of the season after tearing a knee ligament. Also a special teams player, Gray was hurt in a 17-13 win at Buffalo. ... New York Giants reserve running back Peyton Hillis, Jacksonville wide receiver Allen Hurns and New Orleans backup running back Edwin Baker all left because of concussions. Baker was injured while on punt coverage. ... Miami offensive lineman Branden Albert was carted off the field in the second quarter of a 20-16 loss at Detroit because of an injured right knee. Dolphins cornerback Cortland Finnegan went down with an ankle injury. ... Bears WR Brandon Marshall left the lost at Green Bay in the fourth quarter with a left ankle injury.

There was a frightening injury in Baltimore, too, when a Ravens cheerleader was thrown in the air and hit the ground doing a routine during a game against Tennessee. The woman, whom the team declined to identify, was carted off the field and treated at a hospital for head, back and neck injuries. The team said the woman later was cleared to leave, walked out under her own power and was recuperating at home.

That's why I left basketball, so I could stop being penalized for hitting people." — Saints tight end Jimmy Graham on being called for offensive pass interference on the last play of regulation, negating what would have been the winning touchdown against San Francisco.
