Security and emergency personnel respond after a fan fell from the stands during the second half of the game between the Tennessee Titans and the New England Patriots at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tenn., Sunday, Nov. 11, 2018.

.Thomas Carrico Jr., 37, of Goodlettsville had been in critical condition but was upgraded to stable condition Monday morning, a Vanderbilt University Medical Center spokeswoman said.

The Titans beat the New England Patriots on Sunday, 34-10.

The fall occurred during a T-shirt toss in the third quarter when a shirt landed on an awning in the stadium, a witness said.

Metro police said Carrico lost his balance and accidentally fell over a lower level railing and through the awning that covers the home team tunnel.
