Metro Nashville police on Monday said Michael Mosley was facing criminal homicide charges related to the fatal stabbings of two men β€” including the brother of NFL quarterback C.J. Beathard β€” that occurred outside a Midtown bar early Saturday.

Investigators were still pursuing Mosley, 23, on Monday evening, police said. Police called him a "danger to Middle Tennessee" and urged Mosley to turn himself in peacefully.

"It's important for this community to get Mosley off the streets," said Don Aaron, a police spokesman.

Police identified the two men killed as Clayton Beathard, 22, and Paul Trapeni III, 21.

A third victim was identified by police as a 21-year-old University of Tennessee student. Police said he survived the stabbing with injuries to his eye and arm and was recovering. Police on Monday said they are also charging Mosley with attempted criminal homicide.

The fatal attack started as an argument "over an unwanted advancement made by a man toward a woman in the bar," said a statement from Nashville police. The woman was a friend of the victim, said Don Aaron, spokesman for the police.

Surveillance video retrieved by police detectives showed four people involved in the altercation, which began in the bar before spilling outside and then across the street, police said. Detectives say Mosley is one of those people in the surveillance video. His last known address was in Pegram, police said. Two other people in the video have been interviewed, but a fourth person β€” a man wearing a Nike sweatshirt β€” has not been found, police said.

Nashville stabbing suspect's criminal history

Mosley is also facing a felony assault charge for punching and kicking a woman at a West Nashville Walmart in December 2018, Davidson County court records show. He was free on $5,000 bond at the time  .

In addition the his aggravated assault case, Davidson County criminal court records show Mosely's criminal history includes aggravated burglary, attempted aggravated burglary and drug-related arrests and convictions on multiple occasions dating back to 2014.

But his pending charge might be Mosley's most serious before he was linked to Saturday's fatal stabbing. Mosley's most recent allegations center on an incident that took place inside a Walmart in the 7000 block of Charlotte Pike in the early evening of Dec. 5, 2018.

Mosley was seen entering the Walmart and once inside he, "proceeded to an area of the store, where he had seemingly been advised by phone, where the victim was currently shopping," according to court documents.

Mosley then charged at the victim hit her in the face, knocked her to the ground and began to violently punch and kick the woman, according to court documents. Mosley also dragged the woman across the floor, punching her and kicking her in the face, prosecutors claim.

Mosley dropped a set of keys and ran out of the business, police said.

Investigators believe he might have used the keys as a weapon to injure the woman, according to court documents.
