Denver Broncos' Von Miller suffers lower leg injury that could sideline him extensively, per reports

Von Miller, the Denver Broncos' dynamic pass rusher, suffered a lower leg injury that could sideline the perennial Pro Bowler for the season, according to multiple reports.

ESPN and NFL Media reported that Miller suffered the injury during Tuesday's practice, and the Broncos still awaiting the results of an MRI to determine the severity of the injury. ESPN reported, citing a league source, that Miller injured a tendon in his ankle on the last play of the practice and is expected to need season-ending surgery.

One of the NFL's most dominant edge rushers, Miller would be a huge loss for a Broncos team hoping to contend for the playoffs this season under second-year head coach Vic Fangio and emerging quarterback Drew Lock. Bookend pass rusher Bradley Chubb is returning from an ACL injury suffered last season and will be on a snap count for Denver's season opener against the Tennessee Titans on Monday night.
