Cleveland Browns players Jedrick Wills and Rashard Higgins were cited for drag racing Tuesday morning in Westlake, according to police and court records.

According to a Westlake Police report, a suspected marijuana joint was found in one of the vehicles and destroyed by an officer on camera. The same report listed 9:28 a.m. as the time police arrived on the scene at Crocker Road and Coventry Drive.

Neither Wills nor Higgins was charged with possession of marijuana. They were cited for first-degree misdemeanor drag racing.

“We are aware of the incident, will gather more information and handle this matter appropriately,” a Browns spokesman said.

The Browns picked Wills in the first round (10th overall) of the 2020 draft. He's their starting left tackle.

Higgins has been with the Browns since they drafted him in the fifth round in 2016. He has 37 catches for 599 yards and four touchdowns this season, and he's scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in March.

After the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram first reported Higgins had been cited for drag racing, the player tweeted, “Foot slipped srry” and “Was Tryna get away from Covid.”

ESPN later reported Wills' involvement.

"So nobody has ever tried to beat someone off the line at a red light for a max 30 meters? Ight.. Blowing it way out of proportion. Ik y’all road ragers have," Wills tweeted.

Both players have an arraignment date of Jan. 19 in Rocky River Municipal Court.
