The Arizona Cardinals have fined defensive lineman Darnell Dockett just more than $100,000 for his role in an argument with teammate Kerry Rhodes last week against the New York Jets.

The Cardinals have not commented on possible discipline for Dockett, who could play a more limited role than usual on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.

Dockett's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, declined comment.

ESPN reported Dockett spit on Rhodes, though Rhodes denied that and said he'd moved on earlier in the week after an apology from Dockett.

Dockett admitted this week he and Rhodes argued near the end of the 7-6 loss to the Jets. Dockett was not happy with the team's strategy of allowing the Jets to score at the end of the game, even though the team likely wasn't going to get the ball back any other way.

Defensive coordinator Ray Horton said it was "my decision" to allow the Jets to score. "My philosophy is: whatever it takes to win the game. So if it means doing that, I'd do it. I asked the coach (Ken Whisenhunt) to do it."

Mike Jurecki, of Bickley and MJ on KGME-AM (910), first reported the fine.
