Rodgers: Packers good enough to win 'em all

GREEN BAY – At this point, the Green Bay Packers would like to just get one win, let alone enough to make their eighth straight playoff appearances.

That didn’t stop quarterback Aaron Rodgers from voicing his confidence in the team Wednesday. Despite a four-game losing streak – the Packers’ longest since Rodgers was in his first season as a starter in 2008 – the two-time MVP quarterback still expects to win every game.

Literally, every game.

“I feel like we can run the table,” Rodgers said. “I really do. The offense is starting to click a little bit more. We’ve just got to get together a game where we’re more consistent from the first snap to the last. We’ve been, I think, getting closer to that. We’ve really been clicking at times in the past few games.”

It doesn’t matter, of course, what the Packers offense does if the defense can’t get any stops. The Packers have averaged 26.75 points over their four-game losing streak. The defense has allowed more than 30 points in each game, and opponents have surpassed 40 points each of the past two weeks.

Rodgers acknowledged it’s going to require “a really high level” of play for the Packers to win their final six games. The season-ending stretch starts Monday night at the Philadelphia Eagles, a team that hasn’t lost in four home games this season. The Packers then will face division leaders against Houston and Seattle at home before three straight NFC North showdowns to close the year.

Regardless, if the Packers’ 4-6 record has caused Rodgers to lose any confidence in his team, the quarterback didn’t show it.

“You’ve got to take it one at a time,” Rodgers said. “I’m not a big cliché guy, but that’s got to be the focus at this point. We’ve got a tough one Monday night.”
