Green Bay Packers didn't play iconic 'Go Pack Go' jingle on Sunday. Is it gone forever?

Don't worry, fans of the "Go Pack Go" chant, the Green Bay Packers aren't doing away with the Lambeau Field staple.

Those who attended Sunday night's home opener, when the Packers toppled the Chicago Bears, 27-10, didn't hear the familiar jingle. But it's apparently not a sign of things to come.

A Packers spokesman confirmed that it wasn't played but would remain in rotation going forward, noting that in recent years, a new variety of music has been introduced into the gameday experience, and "Go Pack Go" didn't come up this time around.

The longtime jingle was mentioned in the 2021 preseason by coach Matt LaFleur when he was talking about tweaks he'd like to see from the fans at Lambeau Field.

"But certainly, you know, when you're on offense, and it's a third-down situation, I'd rather not hear the 'Go Pack Go' chant," LaFleur said. "And when we're on offense, I'd rather not see the wave, I'd rather see that when we're on defense."
